The expansion will support the localization of energy sector industries, including gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and HL-Class gas turbines. Notably, the 9000HL-Class turbines will be used in the Taiba-2 and Qassim-2 CCGT projects, marking the first time these turbines will be assembled outside of Siemens' Berlin factory. This follows a $1.5 billion contract awarded in June 2024 for these projects.
