Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has received bids for the Al Shaqaya 400 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) project, linking the solar power station to Al Wafra (Z) substation. Larsen & Toubro submitted the lowest bid at KWD 41.45 million (USD 135.2 million). The project supports KISR’s Shagaya Renewable Energy Master Plan to generate 3.2 GW by 2030, which began with a 50 MW CSP plant (commissioned in 2018), a 10 MW wind farm, and a 10 MW PV plant. The CSP plant alone reduces over 81,000 tons of CO₂ annually.
