Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has increased the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park’s capacity to 3,860MW, contributing 21.5% to Dubai’s total energy mix. The park, using both PV and CSP technologies, aims to reach 7,260MW by 2030 and support the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. DEWA is also launching a 1,600MW seventh phase with 1,000MW/6,000MWh battery storage—making it one of the world’s largest solar-plus-storage projects.
