Assystem Radicon has signed a contract with Shanghai Electric Group to provide Design and Detail Engineering Services for the Sadawi Round 5 Solar PV Independent Power Plant (IPP). The scope includes engineering for two substations, overhead transmission lines, and modifications to the BSP substation. The 2,000 MW Al Sadawi Solar Project, part of Saudi Arabia's National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), is set to begin commercial operation in Q2 2027. Shanghai Electric had earlier signed a cooperation agreement for the 2GW project with MASDAR in April 2025.
