EDF Power Solutions and Korea Western Power Co. (KOWEPO) have signed a Joint Development Agreement with EWEC for the 1.5 GW Al Zarraf Solar PV IPP in Al Dhafra, UAE. The project will power ~160,000 homes, cut CO₂ emissions by 2.4 million tonnes annually, and contribute 5% to EWEC’s targeted 36% emissions intensity reduction by 2030. It marks Abu Dhabi’s fifth major solar PV project, aiming to help reach 10 GW solar capacity by 2030.
