EWEC (Emirates Water and Electricity Company) has issued an RFP for the Zarraf Solar PV project, a 1,500MW utility-scale solar plant in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra Region. The project will power 160,000 homes, reduce CO2 emissions by 2.4 million metric tonnes annually, and contribute to EWEC's goal of a 36% reduction in power emissions intensity by 2030. The selected developer will own up to 40% equity and enter a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with EWEC. Responses are due by Q2 2025.
